This week we enjoyed the chance to have a day long workshop with Sao Paulo sambistas ‘Meninos do Morumbi’.
This brilliant Paulista percussion group was set up for young people to provide ‘alternatives to the use of drugs and juvenile delinquency through music.’ Some of our friends from Manchester School of Samba took the opportunity to join us, and although the indie art space venue ‘The Kif’ was not all that salubrious (looked to me like the ceiling was about to cave in -ack!) it was certainly noise-friendly, and we had a really great workshop.
What a great bunch of people! We wish them *boa sorte* for their continued ventures and applaud the great work they are doing.
