Its summer, what better time for samba! Maeve has been working hard to put the finishing touches to our beautiful new costumes, modelled here by the samba band, and also some of my sisters, who are not averse to a few sequins…
New ‘batería’ costumes are either black and silver , or a lovely shade of aquamarine, with a ‘rainha da batería’ outfit to contrast in black and pink, and a flamboyant ‘porta bandeira’ costume with an amazing full skirt.

The batería has also been hard at work practising our batucada, samba reggae and timbalada for the upcoming Lord Mayor’s parade… fingers crossed! (or they will be if we put any more hours in on the drums…)
