Sweet samba in Central Liverpool

On the 15th of July the samba band played to the sound of little rattling boxes of Poppets as the group perfomed in Leeds Central Square for a promotion as the chocolate company launch their new branding. ( I couldn’t make this one, but apparently it was ace)

Anthony Walker Foundation Festival

The Samba school played last night at the first festival organised by the Anthony Walker Foundation, the foundation set up to ‘promote racial harmony’ and in memory of the teenager tragically killed in a racist attack in 2005.
The event spanned 2 centres, Greenbank Sports Academy and Sefton Park, Liverpool 17

Rio Carnival Exhibition Manchester

Some samba school members helped further twinklify the opening of Terry George’s Rio carnival exhibition and book launch at the Troubadour gallery this week.
Maeve said Naomi Campbell was there - well she was, sort of…
The exhibition runs for 6 weeks, catch it if you can

Charity Brazilian Carnival @ the Cocoa Rooms : 27th Aug

Coming up soon Liverpool Samba School are performing at a Brazilian Carnival, Sunday bank holiday 27th Aug @ The Cocoa Rooms ,Chapel St, Manchester 5pm til late
Tickets £10 includes t-shirt and free cocktail *valeu!*
Cocktail proceeds are going to Children’s aid. So, its for charity - what better excuse do you need to party?

Alma de Cuba samba parties

Friday and Saturday’s carnival parties were amazing, with everyone entering the ‘party in the latin (or should that be lusophone?) quarter’ spirit
